Dr. Sushil Dhawan received his medical degree from Dayanand Medical College, India. He completed a full Orthopaedic Surgery internship and residency in India before moving to England to pursue his post-graduate training. He did post-graduate training in orthopaedics from Royal College of Surgeons of England, London, UK and from Royal Liverpool University, England, UK.
Dr. Dhawan attended the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for a two-year clinical and research fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery Orthopaedics. He then completed a residency in Podiatry (Foot and Ankle Surgery) at the Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and worked as attending physician in orthopaedics department for five years while in private practice. He is currently serving as Director of Orthopaedics Services at Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ellenville, NY.
Dr. Dhawan has published and presented a multitude of research papers in his study of fractures, joint reconstruction, and wound care. He is a fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialist. He has had intensive training in ankle replacement, reconstructive foot surgery of diabetic patients, hip replacements, knee replacements and trauma surgery.
