Family Nurse Practitioner

Elizabeth is a magna cum laude graduate of Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, where she received her degree in Nursing. She completed additional rigorous training and earned a Master’s Degree and National Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center – the world’s largest and most prestigious nurse credentialing organization. A Family Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed specific advanced nursing education at the Master’s Degree level. Nurse Practitioners are qualified to evaluate, diagnose and treat both acute and chronic conditions.

For nearly a decade, Elizabeth worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern as manager of the Medical Surgical Department and, in 1985 she was presented with the Good Samaritan Award for Professionalism in Nursing. As a member of the Hospital Quality Assurance Center, she played a key role in developing and implementing its quality programs. In her position as Supervisor of Community Health at Nyack Hospital, she was directly involved in assuring a diverse medical surgical patient population with a high level of care as well as direct intervention for the clinically complex patients. Her other experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner includes independent operation of a Congestive Heart Failure clinic in Bronx, NY, funded by Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Affectionately known as Betty to her patients, she worked for many years in a fast-paced Urgent Care setting at First Care in Monroe before joining Middletown Medical. As a nurse, Betty feels it is important to foster and maintain working relationships with her patients’ primary care physicians, providing quality patient care in a collaborative framework. Betty is adept at handling large patient caseloads without losing the genuine personal interest she has in her patients. She provides thorough and caring evaluation, treatment and follow-up for children, adults and geriatric patients.
